Politehnica University of Bucharest (UPB) is a technical university in Romania founded in 1818. UPB is classified by the Ministry of Education as an advanced research and education university.
Currently there are 15 faculties at UPB. At 14 of them teaching is conducted in Romanian. The Faculty of Engineering in Foreign Languages offers 8 Bachelor’s and 15 Master’s programs in one of the languages: English, French and German.
Politehnica University of Bucharest has over 250 cooperational agreements with European, American, Asian and African universities. Undergraduate and graduate students have the opportunity to study abroad and earn two degrees – one from UPB and one from a partner university.
The main mission of the university is training engineers that are capable of adapting to the requirements of the economy and new technologies, while also having acquired economic and managerial knowledge. UPB supports multi- and interdisciplinary research and development, providing 47 research centres and 71 advanced research laboratories.
