Mendel University in Brno (MU) is the oldest independent specialized university in the Czech Republic.It was established in 1919 named after world famous biologist Gregor Mendel. Today almost 8,5 thousand
students study there (including more than 1,5 thousand international ones).
The university is specialized on agricultural sciences. It has several departments:
MU offers 52 bachelor and 50 master programs. Most of them are taught in Czech but some of them are also available in English. Tuition fee varys from 1,5 to 3 thousand euros per year. Czech-taught programs
are free of charge. The university offers one-year Czech language intensive courses for international students.
